I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to post this. I guess because I didn’t get too good of pics. but it’s still the most important day to date of G’s life! so here it is! First day of Kindergarten!

..he may or may not have worn his shirt backwards all day! I wish I could have caught a few more shots.. but we were LATE.. on our FIRST DAY!! I was so sad.. but had lost my keys.. so we quickly snuck in a few pics. before he joined the rest of the class!
He has two other girls in his class that are in his primary class and lie in our apartment complex as well, so that is nice. I knew Gideon would thrive in either full or half day kindergarten, so I let him make the decision. He chose full day. The first couple weeks he came home so tired.. even falling asleep in the 4 minute drive home, poor kid! But he is adjusting well! Over half his class is only half day, so they get all their core work done in the morning. Going full day he gets and extra music/gym/library time/week, and they do a few more worksheets.
3 weeks into school I got a call from the Social Services counselor at the school. My initial reaction was.. uh oh, what happened.. what did G do?! (I’ve had experiences w/SRS before and so this caught me off guard.) After a few minutes of her explaining her call, she had told me they were putting together a few groups of kids that have behavioral issues, and want G to go as a “model student”. There are only 4-5 in each group, but the kids are able to interact with each other and Gid is the kid they want the other kids to take example from. She had to call and get my permission for him to be apart of this group. After I realized that everything was okay and what she was asking, I was so excited! Sure, he can go be apart of it.. but I was excited and happy to know that he is such a good kid! It was a little bit of a payoff for me! :) Everyday before he leaves for school, I give him a kiss and tell him to have a good day and to be a good example for the other kids. Sure love that little guy!
