And we also went to Lavender Days at the Young Family Living Farm where my uncle works. It was beautiful!
We have had quite the busy summer. In July mom asked if I wanted to go with her to Utah and Idaho to visit family. She had enough room for me and the kids, and needed an extra driver, so we jumped at the chance. My grandparents hadn’t met E yet, and we don’t get to go often enough so we were excited! G always has been a great traveler, and E did pretty well.
First we visited Gma and Gpa in Utah. We were there over the 24th of July which is a big holiday in UT. It’s the day the pioneers reached the Utah valley and established Salt Lake City. All of UT celebrates it though. I wish the rest of the country did as well!! :) During the 2 1/2 weeks we were there we went to 2 parades, saw fireworks, went swimming, had a family reunion, made suckers and visited lots of family! It was a blast!!

Parade #1:
Grandma is part of the DUP (Daughters of the Utah Pioneers)group in her area , so she got to ride in the parade! :)
Auntie W and Aunt H with cousin Adi came to visit while we were at Gma and Gpa’s house.
The Family Reunion was fun! This happens every year though the location changes each year. The weekend of Great Grandma’s Birthday. Her 3 living children and all the grand and great-grand and great-great-grandchildren that can, come! We have fun and games, and and auction to raise money for the next year. we all make stuff to bring for the auction and there is a quilt raffle as well! And of course a potluck with lots of yummy food!

Parade #2:
Aunt Marci and Gma and Aunt Loy working the DUP booth!
Fireworks and some “Hand and Foot” Card games to end a great day! :)
Cousins! They are 5 weeks apart and have so much fun together!
Before we left for vacation, she was taking one or two steps. In the two weeks we spent at Gma and Gpa’s house in UT, she has become the master! She just go-go-goes. Stands up mid-crawl, in the middle of the room with nothing to help her and takes off..practically running. I can’t believe this girls is growing up so fast! She turned 11 months yesterday, but has been walking for about 3 weeks now. She thinks she’s pretty cool stuff!

She’s learning somersaults and how to wave and climb off the couch too! There is no slowing this busy girl down!!
My Grandpa has the most BEATIFUL AMAZING, and very DELICIOUS garden! It is pretty big and he works very hard on it. We love to visit and help pick peas and raspberries. He had some beets and cabbage on too that we got to help eat. That along with Grandma’s homemade bread and strawberry jam make my summer vacations wonderful!
G got up every morning at 6 or so to go out and help G-Gpa in the garden. He came in and woke me up saying, “mom, I need to get my clothes on!” I wanted to roll over and say..later! but realized what he was doing. I think he drove Gpa crazy at times, but he sure enjoyed it. Thanks for letting him help Grandpa!
Sure love him. He is such a great man, and roll model. I always love his hugs and words of advice and wisdom. Love you Grandpa. I enjoyed our couple weeks there.
We took G to see his first movie in the theatre! He loved it! He has been talking about it ever since and has watched the 1st and 2nd Toy Story movies almost every day since! Can’t wait till 3 comes out on video!
