Eventually..I want to turn this into a wardrobe shelf..with a clothes rod in the big section for G's clothes. put his sweaters and socks and ties etc. in baskets on the shelf! But for now, it fits his toys perfectly!

“Service in the Relief Society magnifies and sanctifies each individual” ~Julie B. Beck
“During His ministry on the earth, Jesus Christ spent His time serving and helping others. True disciples of Jesus Christ do likewise. The Savior said, “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another”(John 13:35)”
Well, if you weren’t there, you REALLY missed out! We had a BLAST, and hope to be able to do this again! This month the theme for Enrichment was “Service”, so after much thought and research, we finally decided on a “Service Auction”! Each sister that came was asked to either donate a service, or bring a homemade goodie to share (service being the time they spent making it). We had so many wonderful services donated. Then, we handed out a survey for each sister to complete..it consisted of things we have done in the past day/week/month/life..and for each one you could answer YES to..you would get the points next to it! For example: Came to the service auction: 10 pts. Read the Book of Mormon every day for the last week: 15 points, Visiting teaching already completed: 15 pts, Said morning prayers: 10 points, 5 pts for every child you have, 2 pts for every grandchild, Served a mission: 10 pts… and so on. The list was quite long. THEN, we used the points as our ‘bidding cash’. Brother Naylor (recently RM) Was our Auctioneer and did a FANTASTIC job!! Thanks Bro. Naylor! Everything started at 10 points and went up from there.
Types of things that were donated:
Pre-Made~ Plates of Cookies, O’Henry Bars, Salsa, Banana Bread
Babysitting for the evening, Babysitting all day or all night!
A couple Haircuts, Jewelry Making lessons
Art work for the walls, Help painting walls
Baked goods to be made: Pie, cake, cinnamon rolls etc..
Picture of the Temple (Personally taken)
Free Pet Wellness check-up, Substitution for Primary/RS
Life Story book, Journal Jar
Dinners to be made: Mexican, Filipino, and Guatemalan
and so much more!
We had so much fun, and everyone got something before we even asked to make sure! I hope more people can make it out next time. I believe EVERYONE has talents and things they can do/share. I know that “When you are in the service of your fellow beings, you are only in the service of you God”! (Mosiah 2:!7)
Going Once, Going Twice, SOLD for 165 points!

My Birthday was last week. It was fine. J had to go to school at 7:30am and didn’t get home till around 7pm..Tues - Thurs are LOOOOONNG days for him, and he had a test that day too. So it was a long, boring day for me! Anyway. I received a few Happy Birthday phone calls, and letters, and Happy B-day messages on FB which made my day happier! Then, as I started to get dinner made I looked out the window and my Mom, Mother-in-law, Brother, and friend were running up to the door! SURPRISE!! My mouth dropped open! I WAS super surprised! About 2pm they decided to drive up and surprise me and take us out to dinner!..then drive home. We waited for J to get home and about 7:30 headed out to Texas Roadhouse (my all time favorite! I have others..just depending on my mood ..but if we don’t know where to go, we usually end up here.) The food was good, the company GREAT and my birthday was FUN!! Well, they ended up staying 2 nights. We played games till the wee hours of the morning and then again after breakfast ..and shopped till we dropped during the day Friday. We went to Cargo Largo and JC Penny outlet and a couple other places.
I have phone pics @ TX Roadhouse..but can’t load them yet. They did their TX-R birthday Yee Haw..and had me sit on a saddle and wave a napkin like a lasso. I was pretty much expecting it!
(My mom, MiL and friend are GOOD friends and even though I live a few hours away, the 3 of them get together all the time to play games which I think is cool..I am glad they are such good friends!)
Yesterday, the pools were closed and the park was under water..what’s left to do?!! Play in the rain!!
I love warm spring rains, and apparently, so do my kids!!
Mastering the art of the sippy cup. Mmmmm…juice!
Workin’ on this all day..thought it wouldn’t take long..but ended up having to make 2 trips to Home Depot. Second time with the kids. G asked where we were going and I told him we were going to Home Depot. A few minutes later he asked if we were going to the “Depot’s house”. hehe. He has really been saying some cute things lately. I just can’t get over how cute he is, even w/o his curls!
So, after living here for 3 years..I finally put some shelves into our pantry! I am excited!!
Before..but it had another shelf and they were packed tight. After there is a little more space and I can organize and tell what I’ve got!
Also down-graded our kitchen table. I am glad..it will work for a while! The 4 of us will barely fit, but it’s so much better than the one we had..and free! The other was just so heavy to move around when I needed to mop, and so big that it was always in the way. (sitting outside if anyone wants it ;) but it needs a BIG make-over!)
This weekend was free fishing in Kansas. We decided to go for FHE. It was fun and a couple friends joined us.![]()

We just caught a few little little fish. G didn’t want to touch them, but E did! lol!!
T caught…another hook! Good job T!! ‘J friend’ isn’t the fishing type..but we had fun having her there anyway! and she helped a bit with the kiddos so I could fish! Thanks ‘J friend’, you’re great!! ![]()
G was playing with a stick and said he was fishing..pulled his imaginary fish out, etc.. a couple minutes later…![]()
..he FELL IN!
It was kinda’ funny. although he was crying. I asked him if he had fun swimming with the fish and through his tears he said “Ya”. It lightened his mood a little. Poor guy wanted me to hold him and hug and comfort him..but I didn’t want to ..he was soaked and smelled like lake water! We kinda’ giggled it off. We didn’t have a towel or ANYTHING in the car for him. Luckily I was wearing an extra shirt..so we stripped him down and came home..after a little more fishing! :)
We had fun though!
When we got home he said he was hungry and tired. I asked what he wanted to eat..he said “Fish”. I said “but we didn’t catch any fish to bring home and eat though..what else?”, he said “Um…how about Tuna Fish Mom?!!” So he got a Tuna Fish sandwich and some little Sweedish Fish! Happy Fishing day G!
One of my most favorite sounds is my two kids playing together. E laughing her head off and something G is doing..to get her to giggle. He is such a GREAT big brother.
Yesterday, I put the gate up at the top of the stairs so E could crawl around w/o falling down them. G was downstairs though and said he wanted to go up and play in his room..but that his room was "stuck" (he couldn’t get through the gate) ![]()
I said.. "Uh oh, what should we do?" He said, "I don’t know, use your head!" I laughed..this kid has been watching too much Toy Story 2! (when they use Rex’s head to break open the air vent to rescue Woody!) I said "But I don’t want to use my head!" and he giggled at that! lol!
After a few minutes I went upstairs to check on them and this is what I saw:
They were playing Potato Head on the bed. I asked G how E got up on the bed..he said he "just picked her up there!", and he was guarding it so she wouldn’t fall off! :) Good job protecting her G!,but she probably shouldn’t get up there till she can get down w/o falling! :)
G got his hair cut. I was frowning the whole time I was cutting..but it needed to be done! It is too hot for long curls. “Bye bye curls..see ya next fall!” He LOVES it though..likes to look like daddy (style) and have a short cut like uncle D! Looks older =(. It’s amazing to me that just since a week or so before his birthday..he has even been acting older. Even though one day you will probably be taller than me, you will always be my little boy G! Love you!!
Hooray! My hydrangea is growing! These are my favorite flowers and remind me of my mission. There are a lot of them in VA.! J gave it to me 2 years ago for Mother’s day and said it would take a couple years to start blooming. It started to get buds the end of last summer..but never bloomed. I have patiently waited! And this year it started! I LOVE it!! It has 3 now and a few more coming on,..but all three are different colors. Blue, pink and purple. The color has to do with the acidity of the soil. Anyway. I am enjoying it!
